In September 2012, Rey de Copas opens its doors for the first time, a space designed from its origins to combine a unique environment that blends the diverse arts and cultural elements of the world, works by Sebastián Páez Vilaró, who gave life and form to the place , And varied works of his father Carlos Páez Vilaró, artist of great imprint worldwide, from whom architectural influences were also made that make the spaces of the place so particular.

Although from its beginnings the artistic side was fundamental and the environment a reference of the place, so was the gastronomy. More particularly his inclination to good cocktails and both exotic and popular flavors, which complete the experience with the kitchen that accompanies it.

The diversity and cultural confluence of the placing in the space of objects and works that dress their environments, have to do with Sebastian's curiosity from an early age towards the symbols and antiques from various parts of the world.

It is not accidental however his interest in the cultures of other continents; From a young age Carlos was also an avid traveler, explorer and researcher of the realities and cultures of other distant peoples in the globe, as well as nearby Rioplatenses and the continent we inhabit.

Through the years he has been receiving visitors and friends, King of Cups has mutated and is constantly changing, as if he had a life of his own. In the same way there are emblems that identify it and remain from the beginning for its symbolic value and impact on space.

The bronze and copper works embossed by Sebastián, a technique that he adopted from a young age as the main creative method, and the objects and works of Carlos from different moments in his artistic life, remain as a particular and immovable symbol in the place, always holding the legacy and renewing the concepts with the same care.

Among the works we can appreciate of Carlos are some contemporary frescoes, collages in stained glass windows of the 70's of his surrealist era, carved planks of the year 62 in his passage through the African continent, and objects made with scrap and metals, as well as the imprint of the furniture that comes off the walls, a clear reference to its architectural trends in Casapueblo and other constructions.
